Your real competition is a clipboard and a coffee can
For years, car shows ran on paper forms, a cash box, and ballots counted by hand in the frantic hour before awards. It works, until it doesn't. Organizers switch to car show software that handles registration, on-site QR voting, and results in one place, and the day runs differently once they do.
Six reasons organizers switch
Not a feature list so much as the headaches Car Show HQ takes off your plate.
Your money never touches us
Entrants pay through your own payment account. Funds land in your bank, not ours. We are never the merchant of record and never hold your money.
Results in seconds, not a frantic hour
Votes tally themselves. When the ballot closes, winners are ready before anyone reaches the microphone.
No more rigged-count arguments
Votes are on-site, one per person per category, and locked once cast. Judge scores keep every edit next to the original. Either way, the count has a paper trail that holds up.
Raise more for the cause
A tip jar, priced sponsor tiers with a public sponsor page, and optional paid car-number picks help your show bring in more than gate fees.
Built for the actual demographic
Plain language, big buttons, and a kiosk mode for walk-ups. If the treasurer can send an email, they can run the show.
It looks like your show, not ours
Put your show on its own web address with your name and logo up front. Your registrants see your event, start to finish.
The paper day vs. the easy day
On paper
- Clipboards at the gate and a line that does not move.
- A cash box that has to be watched and reconciled.
- Paper ballots stuffed in a box, then hand-counted.
- An hour of frantic tallying before awards.
On Car Show HQ
- Entrants register and pay before they arrive.
- Money goes straight to your payment account.
- Spectators vote by scanning a QR on site.
- Winners are tallied the second voting closes.
Switching from paper, answered
Is car show software worth it for a small show?
Even a small show loses time to paper sign-ups, a cash box, and hand-counted ballots. Car Show HQ takes those off your plate so a handful of volunteers can run the day, and you can keep taking cash at the gate while you try it, so nothing about your show has to change overnight.
Is QR code voting fair?
Every vote is cast on site by scanning the QR code on a windshield card, one per person per category, and locked once submitted. Duplicate protection is built in and the tally is automatic, so there is no back-room counting and no "the count was rigged" argument.
Do we have to stop taking cash?
No. You can still take cash at the gate and mark those walk-ups as paid. They show up in the same entry list and reports as the online registrations, so your totals stay in one place.
Who can see my entrant list?
You, and nobody else. A person who registers with two different organizations exists as two fully separate records, so one club's entrant list is never another club's marketing list, and it is never ours. Your event data belongs to you; we just process it for your show.
What makes Car Show HQ different from other car show software?
The money model. Entry fees, sponsor payments, and donations settle directly to your own payment account. Car Show HQ is never the merchant of record and never holds your funds, so a club treasurer or charity sees every dollar land in their own account, through a managed connection with no payment API keys to copy around and no waiting on a platform payout. Beyond that, it is built specifically for volunteer-run shows: plain language, kiosk walk-up registration, printable windshield cards, and on-site QR voting that tallies itself.
