What is kiosk registration, and does it need special hardware?

Any tablet with a browser becomes a self-service sign-up station. Set it on the registration table in kiosk mode, people add themselves, a staff unlock code keeps it locked to the sign-up screen, and it resets when idle. It can take a card through your own hosted checkout with no reader, or pair a Square Terminal for tap to pay.
